I am not a doctor nor am I a qualified Nutritionist.
I have one diploma in Anatomy & Physiology 1 and a certificate in Bowen Therapies, but I am no longer registered.
I have attended many lectures on nutrition and well being. I have listened to many CDs and DVDs on nutrition and I have been under the care of some amazing people who helped me get back on my feet and feel great. I did this because the drug model was not working for me. I kept getting sicker and more depressed so I chose a way that took me into many areas of alternative healing.
I personally do not use the term “complementary” because I did not use the two pronged approach bar in one area when I had a carpal tunnel operation on my right hand. My left hand was due to the operated on but a friend gave me the use of a magnetic wrist support and in one week my pain had stopped and I chose not to go through with the operation and have not regretted this decision to this day as I have not had any problems with the hand since . This worked for me BUT I say firmly that it was MY choice and need not be yours!
Regarding my learning about nutrition, cause and effect, I chose NOT to study with any model available as the “experts” could never agree on anything for any length of time and the whole field was so dynamic I chose to stay clear of this minefield.
“EXPERTS CHANGE THEIR MIND TOO”
I have seen “EXPERTS” change their minds like the wind, because what was a fact one day was a fallacy the next. Science might prove facts but amazing new discoveries in biology make a old facts just that “OLD”.
This is a dynamic field and my choice was to listen to everything I could find and try some of it and see what worked. For instance, there have been so many “experts” trotting out diets and ideas that are quickly discarded when the chickens come in to roost. For instance, I believe that the low fat diets are unsuccessful in the long term and yes I have tried them too, before Dr Pritikin died!

CLEANSE AND SUPPORT
Many years ago I came to the conclusion that by cleansing and supporting the body at the cellular level it will mostly heal itself of most things. Anything major that does not respond to these simple methods PLEASE seek the advice of a fully qualifies and trained Health Professional.
As I said earlier,I am a Bowen Therapist (retired) and the reason I believe that I can help you is because I have been through the mill backwards and forwards and came out the other end bouncing with energy, wellness and emotional stability.
All those things were missing in my former life.
The Second reason is that I want to earn some extra income to do more of what I enjoy doing and hopefully help you do the same!
I love to travel, see new worlds and meet new people and take on new ideas.
What I enjoy doing most of all is writing about things that I know and by sharing it I hope that I can help other people get a better quality of life!
I will slot in pieces of my life story as we go along, at the moment let me tell you where I am.
I live in Grafton on the North Coast of NSW and have been here for about two years after travelling a bit and decided to make this my home (All things being equal…time will tell.)
As someone who was supposed to be in a wheel chair by age 45 I am doing pretty well and last weekend shovelled half a truck (big truck) load of mulch and spread it over our rose garden. The rest I will do tomorrow and I expect to do this kind of work for a few more years.
I take no drugs of any sort and that includes pain killers and the type of colds medication that most people take like lollies.
I am lucky that I have my daughter who is also a Bowen Therapist living close by and we do treatments on each other. So YES, body work by a good therapist is essential to well being as most of us suffer from some misalignment of the spine or other structural problems.
Apart from that, my wellness routine is not what you would call brilliant as I do not do any exercise, as I have always considered running round the block and walking for walking sake a waste of time. But the dogs need walking and I am getting serious about it again as I have put on some unwanted weight lately!
I have always got my exercise from hard physical work and bush walking when I had the chance to do it! .
Now I am basically couch potato material and spend most of my time on the computer and the occasional fit of gardening and cleaning the house is all the movement I get. But soon I intend to travel and I think that will be a great incentive to get out of the van and explore!
Luckily my muscles are still in pretty good shape and my health is amazing and my energy boundless.
Because I do not believe in taking a whole lot of Herbs willy nilly unless recommended by a qualified herbalist I stick to freeze dried food based supplements, that may have herbs in them as a composite food!
