Drink Lots of Water

The human body is made up of between 55% and 75% water (depending on body type). Losing as little as 2% can affect athletic performance, cause tiredness, headaches and diminish critical thinking abilities. Basically, water is vital!

So, how much water do you need to drink per day?

Work out the minimum amount needed daily using this easy formula: 33ml of water per 1kg of body weight – for example if you weigh 70kg the minimum you need to drink is 2310ml or 2.3L daily.

Water intake should be over the course of the day and not drunk all at once. Finally, if you are exercising you will need to drink even more water to replace water lost through perspiration.
